WELCOME TO PAWMETTO HOUNDS

At Pawmetto Hounds, we consider our basset hounds and their puppies to be family. Our basset hounds and all puppies are all raised completely inside our home, and they live alongside me and my family.  We feed our personal hounds a mixture of homemade dog food mixed with Victor dry dog food. We feed our puppies canned Wellness puppy food to start the weaning process and then add Wellness dry puppy food at 6-7 weeks old and we continue feeding them a combination of wet / dry Wellness puppy food till they go home. I 100% believe quality nutrition is the starting point for healthy dogs and puppies for years to come and it saves in overall health care costs. Our breeding pairs are all health and genetically tested with clear results. They’re seen by our regular veterinarian for all health and wellness exams and regular veterinarian care. They’re also seen by a reproductive veterinarian specialist for all pre breeding exams, testing and TCI or AI mating and delivery if needed. Our puppies are seen by our veterinarian for all of their health care needs while in my care, so I know 100% everything is done correctly. Our regular veterinarian schedule for our puppies is: 2 weeks - check up and deworming   4 weeks - veterinarian health/wellness exam, deworming and fecal test.  6 weeks - veterinarian health/wellness exam, deworming, fecal test and 1st vaccines. 9 weeks - veterinarian health/wellness exam, deworming, fecal test, 2nd vaccines and microchip. * If puppy is still in my care at 12 weeks - 3rd vaccines and 15 -16 weeks for 4th vaccines.
 We raise our basset puppies with the combination of 2 different puppy curriculums. We start the process of socializing our puppies to different sounds, sights, and textures starting from 3 weeks old. This helps our puppies to have the best start in learning how to conquer daily physical and mental challenges. By doing this we’re building strength, confidence and character that they'll carry with them for life. Their loving dispositions make them great family pets. We breed responsibly and follow the best practices that we have learned to raise quality healthy puppy's which makes us your go-to place to find your perfect basset.
